Product Review: S'well Sport Cap

Product Review: S'well Sport Cap

I am so loyal to my S’well water bottle. I bring it literally everywhere with me and not only does it keep me hydrated all day, it has also saved me so much money over the years — no more buying $5 bottles of water at the airport for this girl!. SO, when I heard about the new S’well sport cap (via Girl’s Night In), I had to give it a try.

How It Works:

The sport cap fits on the 17oz. and 9oz. S’well water bottles without any issue. It works by allowing you to flip up the pop top on the lid to drink directly from. No need to unscrew the top - just drink away.

How I Liked It:

I’ve been using my current bottle and unscrewing the cap for the past 2.5 years without any issue so I didn’t feel like I really *needed* the sport cap. My first impression of the cap was that it didn’t allow for water to flow out as quickly as I was used to, but I decided to keep trying it out for a few more weeks and see how it worked in real life.

I brought my S’well with the sport cap to workout classes and to Hawaii for our honeymoon as the ultimate test and guys, it was great. Much like the existing S’well caps, it doesn’t leak at all, assuming you have the pop top secured down all the way — so it’s super easy to just throw the bottle in your bag and not worry about it leaking or sweating throughout the day.

While I was never annoyed by unscrewing the cap in the past, the sport cap really does give you that second for extra convenience to quickly grab a swig of water, which is great if you’re biking, hiking, etc. The real difference-maker though is DRIVING. I’ve had plenty of awkward moments trying to unscrew my S’well bottle while driving and the sport cap solves all of that by allowing you to access and swig your water with one hand. ::Insert praise hands::

I also found that it didn’t negatively impact how cold my water stayed throughout the day as compared to the standard cap and the flow of water was just fine after all.

Bottom Line:

While I didn’t think I needed the sport cap in my life, now that I have it - I’m not letting it go. I love how much easier it is to quickly grab water while in precarious situations like hiking or driving and I can still always screw off the top if I’m feeling old school.

AND - the sport cap is only $10 on Amazon so trying it out was an easy decision. Check it out!
